The vast majority of schools, 95 per cent, were being used as shelters for displaced persons at the time they were attacked.

In the last eight days alone, Israeli forces bombed five different schools in Gaza-killing dozens of Palestinians – most of them displaced people taking refuge in them, but the occupying army claims that they «served as a hiding place» for Hamas militants.

According to the Government of Gaza Media Office, at least 23 people were killed and 73 others injured in an attack on a school in the Nuseirat refugee camp, which houses displaced persons.

Hamas authorities in the enclave today denounced that Israel is concentrating its attacks in the center of the Gaza Strip against UNRWA schools, where about 80,000 displaced people live: and also in Mawasi, described by Israel as a «safe area» and where hundreds of thousands are displaced.

On 9 June, Israel bombed tents near the entrance to the al-Awda school in Khan Younis, killing 29 people. Two days earlier, another attack on the church-run Holy Family school in Gaza City killed four Palestinians.

On Saturday, Israel attacked al-Mawasi area, designated as a safe area, killing at least 90 people and injuring 300 others.

Since the beginning of the offensive, Israel has blamed Hamas for using Palestinians as human shields in civilian installations and has executed thousands of terrorists regardless of collateral casualties.

But he never succeeded in providing unequivocal proof of that. The war and the siege that accompanied it have devastated the Palestinian territory, destroying much of its infrastructure, leaving most of its 2.4 million displaced residents and causing severe shortages of food, medicine and other basic goods.
