71 More Palestinians Killed in Gaza; 40,405 Since 7 October

Palestinian authorities reported on Sunday that 71 Palestinians have been killed in the past 24 hours in the Gaza Strip, bringing the total to more than 40. 405 killed since the beginning of the latest Zionist escalation.

The Zionist attacks also injured 112 Palestinians, so that since 7 October 93,468 people have been wounded, with women and children being the majority of the victims.

In this regard, Wafa warns that “emergency services are still unable to reach many victims and bodies trapped under the rubble or scattered on the roads of the whole war-ravaged enclave, while the Israeli occupation forces continue to obstruct the movement of ambulances and civil defence teams”.

In a series of heavy Israeli airstrikes, five Palestinians were killed and several others wounded when the shelling targeted various areas of the Gaza Strip.

Israeli artillery was also deployed over the city of Deir al-Balah and the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza, while Israeli crews fired on civilians near the Al-Anan stadium in Deir al-Balah.

Meanwhile, a 19-year-old Palestinian from the city of Saida, north of Tulkarm, Zahir Tahseen Raddad died in an Israeli hospital after his detention inside the occupied territories in 1948. The house where she was staying was attacked by an Israeli drone and Raddad was arrested along with three other youths, one of whom had moderate injuries.

According to the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society and the Committee on Palestinian Prisoners’ Affairs, which confirmed Raddad’s death at the Israeli Meir Hospital, the youth was shot by Israeli forces and used as a human shield when placed in front of an Israeli military vehicle, as documented in video footage from the military operation at Tulkarm.

The congregation highlighted the critical and unstable health conditions in which they found themselves. 

In addition, a child died of serious injuries sustained 10 days ago during an Israeli air strike that hit a group of civilians in the area of Al-Batn al-Sameen, south of Khan Younis.
