A New Round of Explosions Wreacks the Chaos Across the Lebanon and Escalates the Tensions in the Region

A new wave of communication device explosions is shaking Lebanon, causing destruction in the capital, Beirut, and in many parts of the country. The incident, which is attributed by Lebanese authorities to an Israeli cyber attack, has left at least 12 dead and more than 4,000 injured.

The explosions have mainly affected residential areas, causing fires in apartments, vehicles and motorcycles. The Beirut suburb of Dahiye has been particularly hit this Wednesday, with multiple houses damaged and an apartment burned down.

Mustafa Bayram, Minister of Labour of the Interim Government of Lebanon, has described the incident as a «terrorist attack» perpetrated by Israel.

Bayram declared: ‘The attack in Lebanon is a deliberate crime and an act of terrorism. Israel committed it after failing militarily, so he had to resort to intimidating civilians by psychological warfare».

The minister added that this act will serve to unify the Lebanese nation in its internal problems and assured that, despite the international technological support received by Israel, Lebanon has the will and intelligence necessary to respond decisively.

Hashem Safieddine, Head of the Executive Council of Hezbollah, warned that «this aggression has its own punishment and retribution, and the punishment is coming, if God wills». Safieddine announced that a speech by the leader of the Resistance is expected on Thursday, which «will clarify things, and we will be faced with a new pattern and a new confrontation with the enemy».

Among the fatalities are two Lebanese children who succumbed to their injuries in the attack. The tragedy has shocked the population and increased tensions in the region.

The Lebanese Resistance has strongly condemned the Israeli attack and promised to impose a «just punishment» for this aggression, which suggests a possible escalation of the conflict in the coming days.
