ALBA-TCP Advances Regional Integration with Agroalba, ALBA Azul, and Maritime Transport Initiatives

The President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, emphasized that, thanks to the resources of the ALBA Bank, progress is being made in creating a mechanism for the acquisition of planes and ships to facilitate the transport of goods and products among member countries.

During the XII Extraordinary Summit of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-Peoples’ Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP), member countries reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening trade exchange and regional integration.
The meeting highlighted the importance of promoting initiatives such as Agroalba, ALBA Azul, and the development of maritime transport as fundamental pillars to consolidate economic and productive cooperation among the nations of the bloc.
The President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, emphasized that, thanks to the resources of the ALBA Bank, progress is being made in creating a mechanism for the acquisition of planes and ships to facilitate the transport of goods and products among member countries.
“All within the framework of strengthening integration in transportation matters,” stated Maduro, who also announced the purchase of the first refrigerated ship and a commercial cargo plane dedicated to transporting agricultural products.
Regarding Agroalba, the Venezuelan leader stressed the need to finalize this space dedicated to agricultural production and exchange among ALBA-TCP countries, a proposal that has been discussed in previous summits.
Similarly, he proposed evaluating the ALBA Azul initiative, focused on the commercial exchange of fishing and aquaculture products, aiming to diversify economies and strengthen regional food security.

With these initiatives, ALBA-TCP reaffirms its role as a space for unity and cooperation for the peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean.
