ALBA-TCP Condemns Trump’s Statements on Palestine and Reiterates Solidarity with the Palestinian People

The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA-TCP) has issued a strong statement condemning recent remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding the forced displacement of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
In its pronouncement, member countries describe these statements as “absolutely unacceptable and inhumane” and as violations of International Law.
The statement highlights that it is “inadmissible for the U.S. government to consider valid the process of ethnic cleansing carried out by Israel against the Palestinian people in their own historic lands.” This proposal, according to ALBA-TCP, flagrantly contravenes the purposes and principles of the United Nations Charter, as well as International Law and Human Rights.
ALBA-TCP members also criticize the “announced national security doctrine of the United States,” which they claim seeks to obtain “economic spoils” after each military intervention under the premise of “peace through strength.”
The statement reaffirms that “the Gaza Strip is an integral part of the State of Palestine,” along with the West Bank and East Jerusalem, territories occupied by Israel since 1967.
In this regard, they emphasize that “it belongs to the Palestinians,” who have the full right to exist and develop their economic potential on their territory, based on the principle of self-determination of peoples.
Finally, ALBA-TCP joins the unanimous rejection of the international community against what they consider “irresponsible fascist and expansionist pretensions,” expressing their “full solidarity with the Palestinian people in their heroic resistance struggle against genocide, illegal Israeli occupation, and in their inalienable right to exist as an independent state and as a free people.”
