ALBA-TCP Condemns U.S. Veto on Gaza Resolution and Calls for International Action The member states of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – Treaty on Trade of the Peoples (ALBA-TCP) have strongly condemned the veto imposed by the United States in the United Nations Security Council, which blocked, for the fourth time, a resolution demanding a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and unrestricted humanitarian access to the Palestinian population.
This action took place on November 20, 2024, and was supported by all other members of the Council. In an official statement, ALBA-TCP denounced Washington’s unilateralism, noting that its veto reveals a sustained complicity with Israel, allowing this country to continue carrying out what the organization qualifies as “war crimes” and perpetuating an ongoing “genocide” against the Palestinian people.
The alliance warned of an imminent famine for the people of Gaza if hostilities do not stop.
ALBA-TCP also criticized the Security Council’s inaction, arguing that this lack of response prevents the curbing of attacks and violations of the Charter of the United Nations and international law.
In this context, the organization reiterated its call to the international community to take decisive and urgent action to end the attacks and suffering of the Palestinian people.
