Claudia Sheinbaum has demonstrated her commitment to security by confronting organized crime, ALBA-TCP stated.

On Sunday, the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) expressed its solidarity with Mexico and rejection of what it described as “slander and interference” from the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump.

“ALBA-TCP firmly supports President Claudia Sheinbaum and the Mexican people in the face of slander and interference from the U.S. government and categorically rejects the unfounded accusations that seek to criminalize Mexico while ignoring the historical responsibility of the U.S. government in the crisis of violence and drug trafficking affecting our region.”

“The U.S. is the main supplier of high-powered weapons to criminal groups which, combined with its negligent health policies and the irresponsibility of pharmaceutical corporations, continue to claim thousands of lives each year, as documented by international organizations.”

“President Sheinbaum has demonstrated through actions her commitment to security and justice by directly confronting organized crime. ALBA-TCP supports these efforts and demands the immediate cessation of the economic war, including extortionist measures and the excessive application of tariffs, which only deepen inequalities and harm the people,” the Latin American bloc emphasized.

The text reads, “President Sheinbaum rightly emphasizes that arms trafficking from the United States strengthens organized crime in Mexico. Here I mapped the thousands of arms dealers in the border states (almost 9,000) with data from last month.

“As the Distinguished Citizen of the Americas, Benito Juarez, once said: ‘Among individuals, as among nations, respect for the rights of others is peace’, it stressed.

“True cooperation must be based on shared responsibility, genuine dialogue, and respect for sovereignty. Impositions and unilateral actions that violate the principles of international law are unacceptable,” ALBA-TCP concluded.

Previously, on Saturday, U.S. President Donald Trump claimed the Mexican government has ties to criminal organizations, a claim rejected by Sheinbaum, who highlighted the Mexican government’s efforts to combat drug trafficking and other crimes.
