In the Andean state of Táchira, Venezuela, Minister of Tourism, Leticia Gomez; and the president of the ALBA Bank, Raúl Li Causi opened five talking gropus to create a multidestination product to strength the tourism cooperation between countries of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Treaty on Peoples’ Trade (ALBA-TCP).

Leticia Gomez welcomed the delegates and representatives of the ALBA-TCP member states for the meeting, held in the context of the the Venezuela International Tourism Fair, Táchira 2024 (Fitven).
Gomez said that the working groups represent a space for dialogue and cooperation that will mark a milestone in the history of tourism integration, at the time she highlighted that is a “a crucial juncture for the development of the countries within this regional framework.”
“Tourism offers a unique opportunity to strengthen bonds and reinforce our identity as brotherly nations. Within the framework of Fitven 2024, we have launched this meeting to advance towards the consolidation of a roadmap that will enable us to develop multi-destination tourism products and build a tourism brand for the Alliance,” the minister stated.
In this regard, Gomez said that to achieve this goal, steps will be taken to simplify administrative procedures harmonizing regulations and creating incentives to facilitate tourism among the alliance member countries.
On the other hand, the president of the ALBA Bank, Raúl Li Causi said that these working groups reflect a collective commitment to advancing a critical regional issue: tourism as a driver of integration, sustainable development, and shared progress.
“This initiative demonstrates that integration is not merely an ideal but a tangible practice with real and measurable benefits,” he remarked, and added that this plan, promoted by the ALBA-TCP Executive Secretary, Jorge Arreaza, will support initiatives ranging from air travel to the joint promotion of the cultural, historical, and natural heritage of the bloc’s member nations.
