The member states of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) have expressed their strong rejection of the recent decision by Argentine federal judge Ariel Lijo, who issued a court order against Nicaragua’s President Daniel Ortega and his Vice President Rosario Murillo.

In an official statement, ALBA-TCP members described this action as “illegal,” considering it interference in the internal affairs of a sovereign state. They claimed that this is not the first time the Argentine judicial system has acted in a similar manner, recalling a previous case related to Venezuela, one of the member countries of the Alliance.

The Bolivarian Alliance thus positions itself as a defender of national sovereignty and self-determination for the Latin American peoples in the face of illegitimate external interventions.
