Gil said ALBA has a great responsibility to guarantee the sovereignty of Latin America and maintain the region as a zone of peace.

“For this we must design concrete plans that have to do with security and defense, with the economy, with the social development of our states, and of course with the regional unity that ALBA has always been one of the main promoters,” the FM said.

These lines include unity, the 2030 agenda, economic development and security, as well as debate on the regional and global geopolitical situation, including threats from imperialism and racist treatment of the US. towards migrants, all with the aim of guaranteeing the sovereignty and peace of the Member States.

The meeting, according to FM Gil should function as a space for relaunching the integral strategy of the Bolivarian Alliance at a time when they are beginning to suffer and contemplate the most recent attacks by the United States.

For his part, the ALBA-TCP head Jorge Arreaza thanked the Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro and, specially the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry for the organization of the meeting. Arreaza also announced a future meeting of the member countries’ Economy ministers, to be held on April, 2025.
