The new airport will improve accessibility to Barbuda, with 2,000 inhabitants, facilitating direct flights to both regional and international destinations. In recent years, the government has encouraged more tourists and airlines to come. Caribbean Airlines and Sunrise Airways have expanded their presence on the island, in addition to the country’s participation in the new LIAT 2.0.
Currently, the country is served by 21 airlines that connect to 25 destinations in the Caribbean, North America and Europe.
