On Wednesday, Argentine deputies managed to turn a Turkish and revoke the decree that allowed Milei to give direct funds to the State Intelligence Service.
With 56 votes in favor, 52 against and 6 abstentions, the Chamber of Deputies managed to put a stop to Milei’s plans, which included all kinds of violations of the sovereignty of several countries.
This same decree, now rejected, was the one that allowed SIDE to receive 100 billion Argentine pesos for reserved expenses.
Among these “reserved” expenses, the existence of funding for cyber attacks during the pre-and post-election days in Venezuela is suspected, as are campaigns on social networks against President Nicolas Maduro.
Faced with the decision to reject the decree, right-wing figures in Argentina, such as Patricia Bullrich, expressed their displeasure by stating that “The importance of this decree lies in the fact that it provides essential funds for strengthening the National Criminal Intelligence Directorate”.
According to local media, after the session ended, several members of the Chamber of Deputies argued in a sling-like manner with shouting and threats.
