Arrested in Argentina a Man Linked to Arms Trafficking With Nazi Items

The Argentine Federal Police (PFA) arrested an Argentinian man who was allegedly linked to an international arms trafficking network and had a large quantity of weapons and articles related to the Nazi regime in his home.

Forty-three rifles with Nazi eagle minting, 15 pistols, five bayonets, one crossbow, a 9 mm machine gun with Nazi minting, two loading machines, 3,000 fulminants, 3.5 kilograms of gunpowder, 3,000 tips and 2,500 sheaths of different calibres were seized, a World War II uniform with Nazi symbolism, busts of Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini and a large number of objects related to the theme of Nazism.
The arrest by the anti-mafia department of the party in Quilmes, province of Buenos Aires, was carried out as part of the international investigation called Operation Nevada, initiated by the Federal Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Operation Nevada was in order to disrupt a criminal organization dedicated to trafficking weapons to countries such as the US, Greece, Mexico and Australia.
The Specialized Organized Crime Prosecution Unit (UFECO) which is pursuing the case and the PFA were able to establish that the detainee was going to arrive in Argentina.
Therefore, officials set up a surveillance operation from the international airport and follow-up to the property in the town of Bernal where activities linked to the smuggling of weapons would take place.
In addition, three trophies of stuffed antelope specimens from India were seized, in violation of the environmental protection law; two cell phones and documentation relevant to the case.
