The Health Emergency Operations Center of the Ministry of Public Health said in a statement that an attack by “Israeli enemy to a centre of the Al Risala Society for Medical Ambulances – Civil Defence in the town of Ain Baal caused the martyrdom of three paramedics”.

The number of paramedics killed since the beginning of the conflict between Israel and Lebanon a little more than a year ago thus rises to 167, while the number of wounded is now 275, the note notes.

This constitutes “a continuing war crime for which the international community must assume its responsibilities and put an end to it,” the ministry said.

Ain Baal is located a few kilometres east of the city of Tyre, an area in southern Lebanon that has been the scene of multiple and continuous Israeli attacks.

Since October last year, more than 2,600 people have been killed by Israeli attacks, the vast majority since 23 September, when Israel started an escalation against Lebanon, followed by a land invasion of the southern Mediterranean country.
