Yemen’s Houthis Attacks U.S. Aircraft Carrier and Israeli Targets in the Red Sea

“One martyr and four wounded, the preliminary assessment of the victims of the American aggression” in the town of Al Qabil, north of Sana’a, indicated on his official X account the spokesman of the department of health, Anees al Asbahi.

Both the spokesman and TV Al Masira, a spokesman for the insurgents, indicated that there were four attacks on Sana’a, as well as other actions this morning against the province of Saada in northern Yemen.

On 16 March, US President Donald Trump ordered a large-scale operation against the Houthis and since then attacks have been carried out almost daily against Yemen, resulting in dozens of deaths.

Although the Houthis ceased their actions against ships in the Red and Arabian Seas with the entry into force of the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in mid-January in Gaza, Yemeni rebels resumed their attacks when Israel broke the truce agreement to pressure the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to lift the siege on Gaza.

On the other hand, the Yemeni Armed Forces attacked an “E2” aircraft, essential for the control and command of the US carrier “Harry Truman”, according to a senior official of the government of Sana’a.

The attack resulted in the loss of the carrier’s command capacity, prompting the White House and the Pentagon to launch an investigation into the incident. The “E2” aircraft plays a crucial role in providing information on threats to the carrier during its operations.

The Yemeni Armed Forces have intensified their attacks on US and Israeli targets, including the aircraft carrier USS Harry Truman in the Red Sea and the Ben Gurion airport in Tel Aviv.

According to pan-Arab media, these attacks highlight the vulnerability of aircraft carriers to threats from Yemeni missiles and drones.
