Lebanese Army Warns of Escalating Israeli Aggressions, After Ceasefire Agreement

“The Public Health Emergency Operations Center, affiliated with the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health, said in a statement that “an Israeli airstrike tonight on the city of Ainatha killed two people,” according to the Lebanese National News Agency (LNNA).

This is the second attack after two other people died this morning in Israeli drone strikes against two cars in southern Lebanon.

The IDF claimed that the latter two were members of the Lebanese Shiite resistance group against the Zionist invasion, Hizbulah, which have not yet reacted to these Israeli attacks.

After several months of escalation, which included intensive Israeli air strikes against various parts of Lebanon and the entry of ground troops through the southern border, Hezbollah and Israel signed a ceasefire, which entered into force on 27 November for a period of 60 days, expiring on 26 January.

The truce was subsequently extended until 18 February, when Israeli troops withdrew from almost all the occupied territories in the south of the country, while the Israeli Army maintains a presence in five hills within Lebanon in violation of agreements and continues to target targets.
