Following the announcement of a ceasefire achieved between Israel and the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the Gaza Strip, the leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, stated that Gaza will prevail.

This was his initial reaction on the digital platform X to the news that made international headlines on January 15.
“In the books, it will be written that a people killed thousands of women and children in Gaza, and everyone will understand that it was the endurance of the people and the steadfastness of the Palestinian Resistance that forced the Zionist regime to retreat,” remarked the Iranian leader.
His statement accompanied an audiovisual piece summarizing and depicting the experiences endured by the Palestinian people over the past 16 months amid indiscriminate bombings and massacres of civilians, with a significant percentage of children and women among those killed due to Israeli occupation.
Additionally, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) dedicated a statement to the ceasefire agreement on Thursday. The message describes the “end of war” as “a clear victory and a great triumph for Palestine and an even greater defeat for the monstrous Zionist regime.”
The IRGC acknowledged the resilience of Palestinian Resistance groups for firmly confronting “the murderers of the oppressed Palestinian people despite their barbaric and medieval crimes and genocide by the demonic Zionist regime.”
The statement further explains that despite having support from the United States, Europe, and regional allies, the Zionist regime has yielded to “the incomparable patience and resilience of the heroic people of Gaza” and to “the iron will of Resistance,” after 463 days of arbitrary killings. According to IRGC officials, this decision transcends international boundaries and positions Palestinian resistance as “a shining symbol of victory for justice over injustice.”
The ceasefire agreement is set to take effect on January 19, featuring three phases of implementation that include measures such as military withdrawal, prisoner release, and massive humanitarian aid. However, on Thursday, bombings by occupying forces against Gaza continued, with reports indicating eight massacres against Gazan families in the last 24 hours and more than 80 Palestinians killed.
