Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei Approves Masoud Pezeshkian’s Appointemnt As President Of Iran

The leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, ratified in a ceremony the vote of the Iranian people in the presidential elections, making Masoud Pezeshkian the president of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

“Now, following the great nation, I confirm his election by the wise, honest, popular and erudite personality of Dr Masud Pezeshkian and appoint him as president of the Islamic Republic of Iran.”, says the Khamenei’s decree, read by his chairman, Mohammad Golpaygani.

Khomenei, top political and religious authority of Iran wished success to the new president of the country and assured that he will continue supporting him as long as he maintains the policy of following the straight path of Islam and revolution.

The ratification ceremony was held at the Hoseiniye Imam Khomeini mosque in Tehran, and a photo of the former president was placed on one of the chairs, Ebrahim Raisí, whose death in a helicopter crash in May prompted early elections.

After reading the presidential decree, Pezeshkian thanked Khamenei for his support and stated that he now has “a heavy burden on his shoulders” in his new mission. “If we apply the general policies of the supreme leader, we will be the best,” he said, while promising “justice” to the Iranian people.

In addition, Pazheskian appointed Mohammad Reza Aref, 73, who is a long life reformist politician who also served as the first vice president during Mohammad Khatami’s administration as the first vice president of the 14th Iran government by order of Iranian president Masoud Pezeshkian. 

The first vice-chairman is a freely chosen appointment by the President, who must propose to the rest of his cabinet to Parliament, He will vote on cabinet seats on a case-by-case basis between August and September.
