“Venezuela has demonstrated, through public denunciation, with dozens of evidence, how Itamaraty has undertaken a brazen and rude aggression against the Constitutional President, Nicolás Maduro Moros, the institutions and public powers, as well as Venezuelan society,” reads the Venezuelan statement.
The document highlights that Brazil carries out a systematic campaign that violates the principles of the United Nations Charter, such as national and the self-determination of peoples, and also infringes upon the Brazilian constitution, which mandates non-interference in the affairs of states.
“The argument put forward by Itamaraty to interfere in the electoral and political issues of Venezuela, calling itself a witness to the Barbados agreements, is not true and is a trick that must be stopped immediately, since these agreements were exclusively developed by Venezuelans,” Venezuelan govt says.
In addition, the Bolivarian Foreign Minister called on Brazil to avoid “to deteriorate the diplomatic relations between both countries, for which they must assume a respectful professional and diplomatic behavior, as Venezuela has demonstrated through its foreign policy.”
