Due to the actions of protest, President Luis Arce Catacora, denounced the situation of violence at national level. “The practice of any violent practice in politics must be condemned and clarified. It is not with the search for the dead that problems are solved or with biased speculations”, he said in X.
The tweet goes on to say, “in view of the complaint by former president Evo Morales about an alleged attempt on his life, I have ordered an immediate and thorough investigation to clarify this fact”.
On the part of Evo Morales, the former president denounced attempts to divert attention from the fact, in his own words, he assured that the government gives a false version.
“We denounce to the national and international public opinion that the minister of government Eduardo del Castillo will try to divert the attention of the criminal attack against our lives, with the false and lying version that it was an anti-drug operation carried out in the tropics of Cochabamba”, said Evo Morales through his social networks.
While he said he had evidence that «the silence of the government is because they want to cover up with lies and hide their attempt to end my life».
In the message shared by the former president, he asks “why did his elite military and police team fire more than 18 times at vehicles where I was moving to Radio Kawsachun Coca? We have accurate information that in the last 48 hours no anti-drug operation was carried out in the tropics, either by UMOPAR Nacional, GIOE or FELCN, except with some wounded. We also checked whether there was any police action in any union and that nothing happened”.
And he said: «if Luis Arce did not give the order, he must immediately remove and prosecute Eduardo del Castillo and Edmundo Novillo.»
Likewise, Morales’ supporters showed up at two military stations where they demanded to see the wrecks of the trucks that, in his words, were fired at the former president’s cars and then burned.
