A six‑day, 188‑kilometer march of supporters loyal to former president Evo Morales arrived near La Paz on Sunday, with plans to join ongoing protests and roadblocks that have paralyzed parts of the country for 12 days, as demonstrators demand the resignation of President Rodrigo Paz.

“We are going to reach kilometer zero to join the mobilization until the resignation of this incapable, fascist president,” union leader Juan Yupari told local media.

The “March for Life to Save Bolivia” brings together peasant, indigenous, and worker sectors loyal to Morales, who oppose Paz’s planned economic measures. They seek to join the La Paz Peasant Federation “Túpac Katari,” the Bolivian Workers’ Central, and other organizations that have maintained protests and roadblocks since last week.

The state‑run Bolivian Highway Administration reported 22 blockade points on Sunday, most in the La Paz region, blocking food, fuel, and medicine supplies. On Saturday, the Armed Forces and Police had launched a joint operation to clear roads connecting La Paz and El Alto with the rest of the country.

For Monday, a concentration of “ponchos rojos” — a peasant group from Omasuyos province — is also planned on the outskirts of La Paz. The government alleges that the protests aim to break constitutional order and are financed by drug trafficking, a charge Morales has denied.
