One of the main beneficiaries of the national government’s aid was the Department of Beni, where flooding impacted at least 500 families.

“We are arriving on behalf of President Arce to fulfill the agreements made in the commissions,” stated Deputy Minister of Civil Defense Juan Carlos Calvimontes.

Authorities will also deliver humanitarian aid to residents of the municipalities of Trinidad and Loreto, as well as the communities of San Mateo, San Pablo de Isidoro, Villa Nueva, Concepcion, Loreto, and Copacabana. The aid includes family tents, 50-kg sacks of rice, blankets, and other essential items.

So far, the heavy rains, floods, and landslides have led to 136 municipalities being declared disaster zones and 26 municipalities being declared in a state of emergency.

Since the beginning of the rainy season in November 2024, Bolivian authorities have reported 55 deaths, eight missing persons, and 590,529 affected families, Calvimontes said in an interview with the state-run channel Bolivia TV on Sunday.
