In August, the Brazilian president handed over a housing project to flood victims who lost at least 182 lives and a large number of displaced people.

The text reads,
Governor Eduardo Leite and the Secretary of Housing and Land Regularization, Carlos Gomes, signed a cooperation agreement with Caixa Econômica Federal to transfer additional funds for the construction of 600 rural homes in Vale do Taquari.

“The federal government will take care that Rio Grande do Sul never has another flood,” he declared during the delivery of the first houses to families who lost all the product of the climate disaster, It has even left under water about 80% of the municipalities in that state.

The new fund announced on Tuesday is in addition to several packages of direct aid and loans exceeding R$ 70 billion ($13.5 billion), announced in recent months.
