Although no indigenous cases have been reported in the country, the Ministry of Health of Cameroon assured that all travelers will have to be tested in their countries of origin and present a health certificate. In addition, they will be re-examined once they arrive at the airport.

Other measures that will be put into effect once again are the use of masks in case of respiratory symptoms, disinfection of public areas and attempts at social distancing.

Likewise, the Cameroonian government will conduct investigations and guarantee immediate medical care for those infected, free of charge.

All these measures are adaptations of those taken at the pandemic peak in the country during the years 2020 and 2021 when the pandemic, according to the Ministry of Health, killed more than 1300 people and infected almost 12000 citizens.

The African continent in recent months has seen growth of different dangerous infections such as malaria, cholera, monkeypox and in the last few weeks COVID-19.
