Celebration of the 20th Anniversary of ALBA TCP: A Call to Unity and Sovereignty of the Peoples

The event, which also commemorated the 24th Summit of Heads of State and Government, brought together presidents and ministers who ratified the fundamental principles and values of ALBA TCP.

In a special television segment on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA TCP), the organization’s Executive Secretary, Jorge Arreaza, highlighted the historical importance and legacy of this alliance, created by leaders Hugo Chávez and Fidel Castro.

During his speech, Arreaza stated that ALBA TCP is the synthesis of the ideals shared by these two great leaders for the unification of Latin American nations.

The event, which also commemorated the 24th Summit of Heads of State and Government, brought together presidents and ministers who ratified the fundamental principles and values of ALBA TCP.

Arreaza stressed that America is consolidating as one of the most powerful poles in the new global scheme that is emerging.

At the summit, the Minister of Agriculture and Land, Menry Fernández, presented the AGROALBA project, an initiative aimed at guaranteeing the agro-food sovereignty of peoples. Fernández also highlighted the implementation of artificial intelligence as a key tool to boost agricultural production in the region.

In addition, Arreaza advocated for the inclusion of Palestine as a sister country and permanent guest in ALBA TCP, emphasizing solidarity with the Palestinian people.

In this regard, the Rector of the Venezuelan University of Hydrocarbons, Wilmar Castro Soteldo, condemned the genocide perpetrated by Israel against Palestine and praised the courage of the leaders present at the summit who raised their voices against these attacks.

This anniversary not only celebrates two decades of cooperation among member countries but also reaffirms the commitment to the struggle for social justice and peoples’ self-determination.

ALBA TCP continues to be a beacon of hope and unity in an increasingly complex global context.
