Through a message on the X platform, the Chinese ambassador to Cuba, Hua Xin, confirmed the donation, which aims to help address the energy deficit on the Caribbean island.
Cuban Ambassador to China, Alberto Blanco, expressed gratitude to the Communist Party, the government, and the Chinese people for sending these parts and accessories.
The equipment will support distributed generation across the national territory and improve living conditions for Cubans, who have been affected by scheduled blackouts.
Cuba and China have signed agreements in areas related to political dialogue, the promotion of the Belt and Road Initiative, energy, transportation, food security, digitalization, industry, and trade.
Recently, the two nations also formalized an investment project in renewable energy, under which seven photovoltaic parks, each with a capacity of five megawatts, will be installed in six of Cuba’s 15 provinces.
The arrival of components for assembling the parks is expected to begin within seven months, according to Cuban sources.
