The situation in Lebanon has escalated dramatically over the past month, with Israeli occupation forces intensifying their military operations against civilian targets across the country. Reports indicate that these assaults have spread from southern villages to the Bekaa Valley, Baalbek, northern regions, and even into the capital, Beirut, including its Southern Suburb. This widespread targeting of civilians has raised significant concerns about the humanitarian impact of the ongoing conflict.

On the evening of October 24, 2023, an Al Mayadeen correspondent reported that seven Israeli airstrikes were launched on the town of Kfar Chouba in southern Lebanon. The Israeli Air Force also targeted the al-Baraka neighborhood in Ansar and conducted strikes on the outskirts of Housh al-Rafqa, near Beit Shama. Additionally, three airstrikes were reported in the town of Tayr Harfa.

These military actions have resulted in considerable destruction, particularly in residential areas and commercial properties, notably in the Hawza al-Ilmiyah neighborhood of Toul.

The toll of this ongoing aggression has been devastating. The Public Health Emergency Operations Center, part of Lebanon’s Ministry of Public Health, announced on Thursday that since the onset of hostilities on October 8, 2023, there have been 2,593 confirmed fatalities and over 12,119 injuries among the civilian population. This staggering number reflects not only the immediate loss of life but also the long-term implications for families and communities affected by this violence.

The continuous bombardment has led to widespread displacement as families flee their homes in search of safety. The humanitarian crisis is exacerbated by a lack of access to essential services and medical care for those injured or displaced. As international calls for a ceasefire grow louder, the situation remains dire for many Lebanese citizens caught in the crossfire of this escalating conflict.
