From Plaza Caracas, in the nation’s capital, CNE president Elvis Amoroso highlighted the importance of national and international observers in the presidential elections.

Amoroso explained that the Electoral Power of Venezuela is the best and most organized in the world, and specified that the electoral authorities of the South American country have played an intense role, The European Commission has published a report on the European Union’s activities in this field.

The top representative of the entity also denounced the international communication campaign that intensifies the extreme right against the presidential elections next Sunday.

It also stressed that the actions contained in the electoral timetable have been carried out with the required transparency, The European Commission has been working closely with the European Parliament, the Council of Ministers and the European Parliament.

Amoroso also reported that in the last month of June, the CNE invited the ten presidential candidates and the principals of the entity to sign a document confirming their willingness to recognize the results of the elections, which was signed by only eight aspirants to the presidency of Venezuela.

In this regard, Amoroso asked that the presence of international observers be respected in the country. Meanwhile, the vice-president of the CNE, Carlos Quintero, assured the need for observers to know how the Venezuelan electoral system works.

He acknowledged the work of international and national electoral experts who have accompanied the various audits of the electoral system in the pre-event phases. “Tomorrow you will be able to witness the installation of polling stations throughout the national territory and on Sunday, July 28, the great democratic festival of our country,” said Quintero.
