The CNE reports that citizen participation in these elections has exceeded 83.38%, thus maintaining the historical voting percentage observed in previous elections.

The National Electoral Council (CNE) of Ecuador has published the first results of the elections held this Sunday, in which over 13 million citizens were eligible to vote. Ecuadorians elected the President and Vice President of the country, as well as 151 assembly members and representatives to the Andean Parliament.

With more than 16% of the ballots counted, the current president and candidate for reelection, Daniel Noboa, from the National Democratic Action party, is positioned with 45.39% of the votes. He is followed by Luisa González, a leftist representative and candidate from the Citizen Revolution party, with 43.26%.

Other candidates have received the following percentages: Jimmy Jairala (Center Democratic Movement) with 0.36%, Jorge Escala (Popular Unity Party) with 0.41%, and Andrea González (Patriotic Society Party) with 2.88%.

Additionally, lower results were recorded for Víctor Arauz (People Equality Democracy Movement – 0.21%), Henry Kronfle (Social Christian Party – 0.62%), and other candidates.

The CNE reports that citizen participation in these elections has exceeded 83.38%, thus maintaining the historical voting percentage observed in previous elections. The president of the CNE, Diana Atamaint, highlighted the high participation.

Meanwhile, the vote count is advancing publicly at the Voting Reception Boards, under the supervision of political delegates, national and international observers, as well as media outlets. Information continues to be updated as more ballots are uploaded to the electoral system.
