This Tuesday, the Congress of the Republic of Colombia in Bogotá serves as the stage for an important meeting between parliamentarians from Colombia and Venezuela, aimed at evaluating and strengthening bilateral relations between both nations.
The meeting is part of efforts to re-establish diplomatic and commercial ties that have been strained in recent years. Alejandro Toro, a Colombian representative, told teleSUR that a Commission for the Restoration of Relations has been established, composed of legislators from both Caracas and Bogotá.
The main task of this commission is to review previous agreements and establish a clear path toward mutual cooperation. The session will address crucial issues such as commercial and cargo transport, as well as the Investor Protection and Promotion Convention.
One notable aspect of this commission is the inclusion of five Venezuelan deputies from opposition parties.
According to Toro, this reflects a joint commitment by both countries to advance an agenda that prioritizes the needs and aspirations of their citizens.
Toro also emphasized the importance of identifying any obstacles that hinder progress in economic relations.
