Italian-Swiss shipping group MSC says there are 25 crew members aboard a container ship seized by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in the Persian Gulf.
"We regret to confirm that the MSC Aries... has been boarded by Iranian authorities by helicopter while passing through the Strait of Hormuz," the group said in a statement.
"It has 25 crew on board and we are working closely with the relevant authorities to ensure their well-being and the safe return of the ship."

Some reports suggest that the ship, called MSC Aries, operates under the Portuguese flag and is managed by the Israeli company Zodiac Maritime, based in London, and owned by Israeli tycoon Eyal Ofer.
