Dominique Pelicot, who is serving a 20-year sentence for orchestrating the repeated drug-induced rapes of his wife, Gisele, was interrogated Thursday in a Paris suburb court regarding his alleged involvement in a 1991 murder, a 1999 attempted rape, and a 2004 sexual assault.

The 72-year-old confessed rapist was transported from his isolation cell to the Nanterre court, where he answered four hours of questioning by an investigating judge.
“He answered all the questions, as he has always done,” said his lawyer, Béatrice Zavarro, to the press after the hearing.
Unresolved Cases: A Trail of Violence
Pelicot is under formal investigation for:
- The 1991 murder of Sophie Narme, a 23-year-old real estate agent.
- The 1999 attempted rape of an 18-year-old real estate agent.
- A 2004 sexual assault in Chelles, a Parisian suburb, where a 60-year-old woman was attacked in a real estate office.
In the 2004 attack, the suspect threatened the victim with a knife, forced her to inhale a chemical-soaked cloth, but fled when a passerby knocked on the window.
Linking Pelicot to the Crimes
Investigators have found striking similarities between these attacks:
- Same region where Pelicot and his wife lived.
- Use of chemical sedation (e.g., ether).
- Presence of a weapon (knives or box cutters).
- Pelicot’s DNA matched a bloodstain on the shoe of a 1999 victim.
Initially, Pelicot admitted to being at the crime scene, but later denied the rape during a separate police interrogation.
A Notorious Predator
Pelicot was convicted in December 2023 for coordinating the drugging and rape of his wife by multiple assailants. His 20-year sentence is final, as he did not appeal the ruling.
Authorities continue to probe his involvement in unsolved violent crimes, believing his criminal history may extend further than currently known.
