The Cuban government strongly condemned the resumption of Israeli attacks on the Palestinian population this Tuesday, stating that these actions are carried out “with the full support” of the United States and with “increasing brutality.”

In a message shared by President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, Cuba denounced that “with the full backing of the U.S. government, Israel has resumed its bombings against Gaza,” asserting that these attacks “aim to annihilate the Palestinian population in the Strip at any cost and with growing brutality.”

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez also spoke out against the new Israeli bombings, condemning them as being carried out “under the declared complicity of the U.S. government.” Rodríguez emphasized that “the extermination of the Palestinian people is Israel’s only path to fulfilling its expansionist dreams of seizing the Strip” and demanded that “the genocide must stop now.”

Early Tuesday morning, Israeli forces broke the ceasefire in Gaza, launching a wave of bombings that have killed over 400 people, mostly women and children, and injured at least 560, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.

The Ministry reported that 174 of the more than 400 fatalities were children, while 89 were women. Together, women and children account for 65% of the total deaths. The death toll also includes 109 men and 32 elderly individuals, whose genders were not specified.

The Gaza government noted that bodies are not reaching hospitals “due to the dire humanitarian situation on the ground and the paralysis of the transportation sector caused by the lack of fuel across all provinces of the Strip.” This shortage has worsened since Israel completely blocked access to aid earlier this month.

The new Israeli offensive began after nearly two months of ceasefire in Gaza. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described these actions as “strong measures against the terrorist organization Hamas,” accusing the group of failing to release the 59 hostages taken on October 7, 2023, who remain in Palestinian territory.
