The Cuban Foreign Ministry stated, in this regard, that this organization «lacks moral or legal authority to settle matters that only concern the Venezuelans» and «considering the long history of the OAS in the service of American imperialism».

According to the Cuban Foreign Ministry, this record is characterized by ‘The interference in the internal affairs of sovereign states in our region, the support and promotion of coups d’état, military dictatorships, repression and torture carried out by governments fully supported by the United States, there is no basis for analyzing an internal process such as the elections held in Venezuela».

«The double standard with a clear ideological bias of the discredited secretary general, actively involved in the acts of violence in Venezuela in 2019, in supporting a self-proclaimed president who is not elected by the people and in promoting the coup d’état in Bolivia that same year, to mention only the most recent events, would be sufficient to disqualify the maneuver held today in Washington», said the official document.

It also states that, «in an unusual manner and without any attachment to the internal order of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela or any other nation»The United States and other OAS members tried to impose a a resolution calling on the Venezuelan electoral authority to recount the votes cast on Sunday, 28 July, with the observation of international organizations, The demand is not made to any country».

«However, the dignified attitude of a group of countries prevented the approval of the interventionist document», stressed the Chancellery.

By specifying that on Sunday, July 28, 2024 the Venezuelan people expressed their will in the election of Nicolás Maduro, Cuba reiterates its strong support and solidarity «with the Bolivarian government led by comrade Nicolás Maduro Moros and the civic-military union of the heroic Venezuelan people».

In the face of imperialist harassment, external interference, media manipulation, political and opportunistic onslaught by oligarchies and their representatives, the Venezuelan people decided to maintain their majority support for the option founded by Commander Hugo Chávez Frías and which has been maintained in the face of threats and external aggression, Under the leadership of President Nicolás Maduro Moros, the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) and its allied parties», the statement stressed.

Recalling that the Bolivarian and Chavista people defeated in recent periods the violence of paramilitary groups fed from abroad that shamed many Venezuelan families, the attempts at assassination, the armed incursions of mercenaries and the imposition of a so-called president without any authority or legitimacy, the Foreign Ministry valued that the people «resisted unilateral coercive measures, economic sabotage, among other actions aimed at subverting the internal order constituted»

We denounce that, under the pretext of not recognizing the official results of the electoral process, in consultation with international actors and sectors of the internal opposition, without any knowledge of the powers of the Venezuelan State, The return to the stage of violence and destabilization is irresponsibly encouraged in order to bring about a coup against the powers of the state that will overthrow the legitimate government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela», insisted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

«A major conflict in Venezuela would have very negative and unpredictable consequences for the entire region», warned the Ministry.
