Cuba Denies Allegations of Engagement on Violent Acts in Venezuela

The Cuban government denied today any involvement in repression, espionage, persecution and torture in Venezuela, through a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to the text, the desperation to hide the failure of coup plans in the South American nation led a person of the oligarchies and geostrategic interests of the United States «to try to deceive public opinion with false and malicious accusations» against the island.
«Around the aforementioned promoter of lies, it has recently been revealed that he has received millions of dollars from an American lobbying group, for the purpose of financing his campaign and generate destabilization in Venezuela», adds the text.
It is not Cuba, he explains, who interferes-and never will-in the political and economic life of another country with sanctions, pressures and plans for regime change.

The statement also states that the chancellery denounced on 31 July, 2 and 10 August that «those who try to impose slander on Cuba are the same ones who support and practice interference, manipulation and encouragement of violence».

«Even in that country, repressive practices against its own people continue to be recorded, as happened a few weeks ago against university students who were demonstrating against the genocide in Gaza», he says.
It also emphatically rejects the falsehoods that are fabricated to reinforce the policy of harassment of several US governments, Part of which is the tightening of the economic blockade and the irrational inclusion of Cuba in a unilateral list of states that supposedly sponsor terrorism».
The indecency and lies that the right wing uses as a standard will never be able to undermine the integrity of the Cuban Revolution, nor can they ever prevail over the will of the peoples, he affirms.
