In a clear act of support for the Venezuelan government, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla condemned the recent sanctions imposed by the US government against Venezuelan public officials.
Through a Twitter message, Rodriguez said: “We reject the new unilateral coercive measures imposed by the US government against public officials of #Venezuela. We reiterate the support and solidarity of #Cuba with the Bolivarian and Chavista Revolution, led by President Nicolás Maduro”.

On the Telegram channel of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yvan Gil, the Bolivarian government thanked Cuba for its firm position.
In an official statement, the people and government of Venezuela expressed their “warm embrace” and “sincere thanks” to the Cuban chancellor for his support.
The message states that “we deeply appreciate your rejection of these new attacks in the form of illegal coercive measures directed against our officials, who are dedicated to defending and protecting the peace and stability of our nation”.
This exchange of messages highlights the strategic alliance between Cuba and Venezuela, two countries that have faced international pressure and sanctions from the US government.
Both nations have reiterated their commitment to the Bolivarian Revolution and the principles of self-determination and sovereignty.
