After successfully defending the title they claimed in the first edition held in Mexico in 2022, the Cubans added 1,380 points to the global ranking, securing 1,920 this season, which brought them to a total of 4,327 points, surpassing Chinese Taipei’s 4,113.

The WBSC reported that Japan, runners-up in both editions of the World Cup, equaled their record of third place, while France, which won the bronze medal in Hong Kong, held onto its fourth-place ranking.

The Tunisian team, which had been ranked third, dropped to fifth place after finishing seventh in the tournament, while Mexico rose two spots to claim sixth place, the same position they achieved in this championship.

Cuba finished the 2nd World Cup undefeated, sweeping Japan, the only team that managed to win a set against the Cubans during the qualifying round.

Pablo Terry’s team reached the final after defeating Lithuania, South Africa, Venezuela, and Hong Kong in the group stage, and overcoming Japan, Mexico, and France in the knockout stage.

Haila Gonzalez and Briandy Molina were named the Most Valuable Players of the 2nd World Cup; for the Cuban captain, this is his second consecutive time receiving this distinction.
