Cuba Marches in Support of Palestine and Condemning the Israeli Aggression

A massive march in solidarity with Palestine is held this Monday in Havana, the capital of Cuba, to condemn the genocide of the Israeli government against the Palestinian people for a year, and also reproduces in other nations of the Middle East such as Lebanon, Syria and Yemen.

The mobilization is attended by the country’s president, Miguel Díaz Canel, accompanied by the president of the parliament, Esteban Lazo, and the prime minister, Manuel Marrero. Other leaders also attend the rally, representing the people of Cuba.
The demonstration, convened by the Union of Young Communists (UJC), also denounces the complicity of the US government in the constant bombing of Israel in the Gaza Strip, which has caused more than 42,000 deaths, most of them women and children.
The march began at Fragua Martiana, a point near the University of Havana, and extended to the Tribuna Antimperialista on the Havana seafront. Participants carried Palestinian flags and posters to commemorate the end of the genocide.
Once present, the congregation of leaders and youth began a political and cultural act in tribute to the victims of the Palestinian people for 75 years.
One of the speakers, a Palestinian student in Cuba, said that fighting for Palestine is fighting for humanity, is fighting for peace, is fighting for a just world. We have long been the object of a Western-sponsored extermination plan. Their plan is not only to appropriate Palestine but the whole region, because the nature of our enemy is expansionist».
She denounced that, for a year, thousands of pregnant Palestinian women lack adequate and dignified care, many fetuses have not been born and many families have been completely eliminated. Similarly, he argued that the infrastructure of Gaza has been razed and international aid has not been allowed into the region.
“A whole year and our Gaza have had neither a day of peace nor a quiet. One whole year and our people in the West Bank suffer daily aggressions from settlers”, he said.
