Cuba Receives 104 Irregular Migrants Returned from the U.S. Under Bilateral Agreements

With this latest operation, which follows another carried out from the United States on January 23, Cuba has recorded a total of 11 repatriations from various countries in the region so far in 2025, bringing the total number of returned individuals to 296.

On Thursday, February 27, Cuba received a total of 104 irregular migrants, consisting of 84 men, 19 women, and one minor, on a flight from the United States that landed at José Martí International Airport. This repatriation is part of the bilateral migration agreements between the two countries.
Among the returned migrants, one individual was transferred to an investigative body due to their alleged involvement in crimes committed before leaving Cuba. Additionally, two people were detained for having left the country illegally while on parole.
With this latest operation, which follows another carried out from the United States on January 23, Cuba has recorded a total of 11 repatriations from various countries in the region so far in 2025, bringing the total number of returned individuals to 296.
The Cuban government reaffirmed its commitment to regular, safe, and orderly migration, while warning about the dangers and risks associated with illegal departures from the country by sea.
This stance reflects the Cuban authorities’ concern for the safety of their citizens and the need to establish legal and controlled migration channels.
