Cuba Rejects US Attempts To Destabilize Honduras

After the Honduran president Xiomara Castro dennounced a US plan to destabilize the Center American country throw a coup d’etat, the Cuban government rejected the interventionist plan and confirmed its support for the Honduran people.

The Cuban president Miguel Miguel Díaz-Canel in a message through his X account, he demanded “the cessation of interference in the internal affairs of Honduras,” while pointing out support for Castro’s government management.
Díaz Canel- Bermúdez emphasized saying that “Our support and solidarity to President Xiomara Castro, her government and the people of Honduras in the face of attacks on the sovereignty of Honduras and Our America.”
In addition, the Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla rejected “the gross US interference in Honduras.
“We are alerted to the serious allegations of the president that a plan is being hatched against her government. We demand respect for the sovereignty of that country and its government,” said the FM.
Cuba’s back messages come after the Honduran Head of State denounced the an attempted coup d’état after the attack on the Chief of the Armed Forces and the Minister of Defense of that country.
Amid a context of US pressure and interference on Latin America, the Honduran chancellor, Enrique Reina, had referred to an attempt at division in the Honduran Armed Forces following comments by the US ambassador, Laura Dogu.
Several communication platforms have warned that the situation in Honduras is not an isolated case, but part of a larger pattern of US diplomatic behavior in Latin America.
