Cuba: Six Dead in Bus Accident in Ciego de Ávila

A serious traffic accident on the road connecting Morón with Turiguanó Island in the province of Ciego de Ávila left six people tragically dead, according to preliminary reports by the newspaper Invasor. The incident involved two buses: one belonging to Constructora Militar and another transporting workers in the tourism sector.
Local authorities quickly moved to the accident site to coordinate care for the injured, who were taken to the Roberto Rodríguez Hospital in Morón and the Antonio Luaces Iraola Hospital in Ciego de Ávila. In a moving gesture of solidarity, the community of Morón gathered at the Provincial Roberto Rodríguez Hospital to donate blood in support of those affected.
Yoenkis Tapia Valido, director of the Morón Hospital, reported that the main injuries among patients include neurosurgical and limb fractures. To date, seven medical discharges have been recorded.

Among the deceased are the drivers Yuniester Oliva Artiles and Yohelvis Reino Veitia, both from Ciego de Ávila, as well as four tourism workers: Ezequiel Días Matos (Baraguá), Daniel Trujillo Rodríguez (Morón), Yaensy Conde Vega, and Javier Hernández Zamora (both from Ciro Redondo).
