From March 17 to 19, at the University of Havana, communicators, academics, politicians, and activists will reflect on the challenges and opportunities that technopolitics presents in shaping a more inclusive and just future.
This event, which brings together more than 400 participants from 48 countries, is held under the slogan “We Are Peoples Weaving Networks” and aims to explore how power dynamics are transforming in an increasingly interconnected world.
During the event, Diaz-Canel congratulated the multi-state media platform teleSUR on its 20th anniversary, highlighting its role in disseminating alternative forms of communication from Latin America to the world.
“teleSUR is the courage of the peoples of our America, united in a communication platform that has revolutionized counter-hegemonic modes of communication over the past 20 years. Congratulations, Patricia Villegas, congratulations to all those who continue building Patria En Red,” he said.
The Patria Colloquium, organized by the Union of Cuban Journalists and Casa de las Americas, also commemorates the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Faculty of Communication at the University of Havana.
