On 8 October, a total of 70 air strikes and shelling were recorded in various areas of Lebanon, mainly in the suburbs of Beirut and the Bekaa, in the south of the country, according to a report provided by the National Operations Room of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers.
The Lebanese health ministry reported that in the last 24 hours, 22 people were killed and 80 injured as a result of Israeli attacks. This brings the total number of deaths in September to 2,141 and 10,099 injuries.
This adds a total of 9,470 attacks since the start of the attacks in September.
As a result, up to 1,000 centres have been opened for internally displaced persons, of which 807 are out of capacity and 185,400 internally displaced persons have been registered in shelters listed in the regulations issued by the National Operations Room.
In addition, it is reported that the Lebanese Civil Defence carried out 28 missions to extinguish fires caused by Israelis, 8 missions to remove rubble and rescue victims, 13 missions to transport casualties, 16 missions to recover bodies and 87 missions to supply water to displaced persons’ shelters.
These numbers reflect the impact of the Zionist entity’s constant bombing of Lebanon, supported by the shipment of US weapons to Israel.
On the other hand, since 7 October three Palestinian refugee camps have been affected by Israeli air attacks in Lebanese territory: the camp of Ein El Hilweh near Sidon, the camp of El Bass in Tyre and the camp of Beddawi north of Tripolo, reports the United Nations Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA)
