Death Toll Rises to 2,255 as Israeli Attacks Continue in Lebanon

The Emergency Health Operations Centre of the Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that in the last 24 hours there were 26 deaths and 144 injuries, bringing the total to 2,255 deaths and 10,524 injuries as at 12 October.

According to the Ministry the Israeli aggression attacked several localities in the eve with a total of five martyrs and 19 wounded in Baalbek-Hermel, three martyrs and 41 wounded in Nabatieh, and one martyr and 22 wounded in the Bekaa valley.
The Israeli attacks have led to the forced displacement of hundreds of thousands of Lebanese into Syrian territory, fleeing from the destruction and disprovision caused by the bombs.
Lebanon’s General Security reported that between 23 September and 11 October, 320,184 Syrian citizens and 117,727 Lebanese citizens passed through Syrian territory.
On 12 October, the IDF intensified its attacks in the south and the Bekaa valley, increasing the number of martyrs and wounded. In the town of Baisariya, five people, including four children, were killed by Israeli fighter aircraft.
In addition, attacks were reported in Bazourieh, Barish and Jiyyeh, as well as in Maroub and Mahrouna, where several civilians were injured.
The Israeli army shelled several localities in southern Lebanon, including Sarifa, Batoulieh and the outskirts of Al-Housh in Tyre, as well as the surroundings of Zefta. The attack destroyed a three-storey building in Kafrateh al-Sayyad.
Furthermore, the Israeli army threatens to attack ambulances in southern Lebanon, claiming that they are used for transporting fighters and weapons, which is a violation of humanitarian principles under international law and the Geneva Conventions.
