The Democratic National Committee said this Sunday that while the resignation of a candidate for re-election in the absence of just over three months for the elections is unprecedented, in the coming days the Party will undertake a transparent and orderly process to replace Joe Biden.

Jaime Harrison, Chair of the Democrat committee said in a statement that “The work that we must do now, while unprecedented, is clear. In the coming days, the Party will undertake a transparent and orderly process to move forward as a united Democratic Party with a candidate who can defeat Donald Trump in November.”
This process, he added, will be governed by the rules and procedures established by the Party, at a time when delegates “are prepared to take seriously their responsibility in swiftly delivering a candidate to the American people.”
Harrison assured that the Democrats “are prepared and united in our resolve to win in November” as the party moves forward to formally select a nominee at the time he added that their values still be the same.
He said his party will save the American democracy “from the threat of dictatorship” apparently referring to Republican contributors Donald Trump and ultra-conservatative vice-presidential candidate JD Vance.
This Sunday, less than a month before the Democratic Party held its convention in Chicago on August, 19, Biden decided to withdraw of the race for reelection “for the interest” of the Democratic Party and the United States, and offered his support to the vice president, Kamala Harris.
All this after a few hard weeks with growing criticism for the suitability of his candidacy following his disastrous performance in the first debate of the race to the White House against Trump, which was held on June 27 and in which he was disoriented for moments, a situation that fueled controversy over his old age, 81.
