DPR of Korea World Championships of Weightlifting With 45 Medals, 26 of Them Gold

The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea’s team dominated with authority the World Weightlifting Championships, held in Manama, capital of Bahrain, with a balance of 45 medals, 26 gold, 13 silver and 6 bronze.

The DPRK’s halters were featured in a medal game where they only won the replica of the Chinese team, who finished the tournament with 31 metals: 14 gold, 8 silver and 9 bronze.
Ri Chong-song took the three gold medals in the men’s up to 81 kilos category, while in the women’s up to 64 kilos category they were shared by their compatriots Ri Suk and Rim Un-sim.
In -81, Ri Chong-song won in drag (166 kilos), two times (205) and the total (371). In -64, Ri Suk was the best in two times (149) and in total (264), while Rim Un-sim got the gold in the start (116).
Hyang Song Kuk earned gold in the women’s 76kg category with 264kg as Colombia’s Miyareth Mendoza won silver with 248kg, and Nigeria’s Sarah Ovayioza earned bronze with 245kg.
Second place goes to China, with 31 medals in total, 14 gold, 8 silver and 9 bronze.
