This process, which seeks to ensure inclusion and accessibility in the electoral system, is carried out under strict security and transparency protocols, as votes will be counted on Sunday, April 13, starting at 17:00 (local time), when voting ends throughout Ecuador.

The Ecuadorian electoral entity reported that a total of 537 people over 50 years old and with a physical disability equal to or greater than 75 percent, voted in the process of the second round of the 2025 general elections.

CNE’s head Diana Atamaint reported on the deployment of 174 Mobile Voting Receiving Boards at the national level to facilitate the suffrage of more than 660 people with mobility difficulties, with the largest number of beneficiaries concentrated in Manabí, Guayas and Azuay.

For his part, the CNE’s advisor José Cabrera, stressed that voting at home consolidates an inclusive electoral system that guarantees the right to vote for those who face barriers due to health or mobility.

Since Friday, electoral silence has prevailed in Ecuador following the conclusion of the campaign prior to the ballots on April 13.

More than 13.7 million Ecuadorians are called to elect president between the candidate, Luisa González, of the Citizen Revolution (RC), and the current presidential candidate for re-election, Daniel Noboa.
