The debate, to be held in Quito and broadcast by Ecuador TV, is considered crucial for defining the country’s direction in the upcoming elections on April 13, when the presidential binomial will be elected for the next four years.
According to the draw made by the National Electoral Council (CNE), Luisa González will open the debate from the A stand, while Daniel Noboa will do so from the B.
The five main themes of the debate will be education, health and social security, crime and security, economy and employment, and governance. This scheme includes direct interpelations and closed questions which will test your ability to argue and propose.
Each thematic axis will be developed in 20 minutes with moments of direct interpelation between the candidates and closed questions of answer yes or no.
At the end of the meeting, each presidential will have one minute to deliver a final message that could be decisive in winning over the more than 13 million Ecuadorians eligible to vote.
The debate will define the political agenda and start the campaign for the second round, until 10 April. Both candidates will intensify their proselytism, now under the rules of the Code of Democracy (spending limits, use of resources, etc.).
