According to data collected by the Latin American Strategic Center for Geopolitics (CELAG), Citizen Revolution candidate Luisa Gonzalez leads voter intention in all published polls to date, except for the poll conducted by Tino Electoral, a company that places President Daniel Noboa in first place.
In a study authorized by the CNE and conducted by Pedro Cango, Gonzalez has 51.9 percent of citizen support, while Noboa reaches 48.1 percent. Similarly, the firm Negocios & Estrategias positions the leftist candidate with 51.4 percent, compared to 48.6 percent for the right-wing politician.
On Sunday, April 13, over 13.4 million Ecuadorians will head to the polls to choose between two opposing political projects. Luisa Gonzalez, a 47-year-old lawyer, has focused her campaign on proposals aimed at revitalizing the economy and improving public health, education, and security services.
In contrast, Noboa, who is seeking re-election to remain in power until 2029, aims to combat criminal gangs through transnational security companies and the presence of foreign military bases.
Electoral authorities have authorized nine companies to publish voter intention poll results until 11:59 PM this Thursday. The electoral campaign will officially conclude on April 10.
