The raid took place in the province of Las Guayas, where a “narco-fiesta” of great proportions was celebrated.

On Wednesday, the National Police and the Armed Forces of Ecuador arrested a big drug lord of what was described as a “Narco-fiesta”.

The detainee was released under the pseudonym “Boris”, who, according to police forces, was the alleged leader of the criminal group Los Choneros. He had a previous arrest for the crime of murder (2015) and for possession and bearing weapons (2020).

The raid took place in the province of Las Guayas, where a “narco-fiesta” of great proportions was celebrated.

The law enforcement authorities seized four pistols, seven feeders, 112 ammunition, four cell phones, $2,400 cash and five cheques totalling $240,000.

In the narcofiesta in which alias “Boris” was captured, two police officers on active duty were also arrested. The military personnel discovered a tunnel in the property, which was presumed to be used for drug-criminal activities.

In addition, a tunnel and a site where drugs were allegedly collected were found, and four high-end vehicles, one of them with type-V armour, were seized, bearing a calibre of 7.62 millimetres.

The General Commander of the Police, César Zapata, reported that in the raid on the building where the ‘narco-fiesta’ was taking place, there were two policemen on active duty who, although they were on their day off, were carrying weapons when they were captured.
